Job Title: Instructor for our a la carte Classes Program

About Us: Redwoods Homeschool Community is a Christian ministry and organization that serves homeschooling families through community connection and support. We are dedicated to offering high-quality instruction in a supportive and enriching environment through our a la carte Classes Program. We aim to come alongside families with students ages 6-18 to reach their full potential and achieve academic success.


Position Overview: We are currently seeking passionate and experienced instructors to join our a la carte Classes Program. Instructors will teach a minimum of two classes and up to five classes on one day of the week for 14 weeks of each semester. Each class may have between 8-14 students. We are seeking tutors in the following subject areas: music, art, drama, physical education, science, and foreign language. We also welcome applications from individuals with expertise and passion in additional subjects not listed. Classes are categorized as enrichment, elective, or core.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons for your classes
  • Create a supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and participation
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students
  • Provide feedback and support to students to help them achieve academic success and personal growth
  • Collaborate with program staff and parents to support student learning and development
  • Provide class description and outline prior to the posting of the a la carte Classes Program schedule
  • Provide basic lesson plans prior to the start of classes
  • Be committed to classes and students
  • Complete MinistrySafe Awareness Course and pass a background check
  • Attend mandatory teacher meetings, at least one per semester

Qualifications:

  • Experience in education is preferred
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience in the subject area
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment

Additional Information:

  • Applicants must be able to sign in agreement to our Statement of Faith and pass a background check
  • Complete MinistrySafe Awareness Course upon hiring
  • This is a part- time position
  • Classes will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Bristol on Wednesdays
  • There may be opportunities for additional days of classes in the future
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
